TERMS AND CONDITIONS – RETAIL
Judy Avontuur (“Avontuur”) is a retailer of Animal and African themed gifts (together “Products”). All sales by Avontuur are subject to the terms and conditions set out below, whether through our website (www.judyavontuur.uk) or otherwise. We may amend these terms and conditions from time to time.
2. Purchasing from us
A contract between us will only be established once we have issued an invoice and received payment for the Products. This is because, if we make a mistake on pricing or availability etc we have a chance to correct it, but we will contact you first. We reserve the right to cancel an order or part of an order at any time and for any reason. In the event that we do cancel an order, a full refund of any monies paid for the order will be given.
By purchasing Products from us you are confirming that you are 18 or over.
3. Dispatch and Delivery
We aim to process orders within 2 working days of receipt of cleared payment. All orders are acknowledged by email. Unless indicated otherwise delivery is normally within 5-10 working days. However, where we indicate that our suppliers are out of stock we may still be able to obtain an item for you, but it may take longer for delivery. Please contact us to find out more.
Goods are dispatched using a registered service and may require a signature upon delivery. You must ensure that you have provided us with the correct delivery address and that there will be an authorised person at the address to sign for delivery. Should a Product be damaged in transit please tell us straightaway so we can contact the delivery company.
Our shipping and delivery charges are as follows (unless indicated otherwise):
Standard UK delivery (up to 6 working days): Free (unless indicated otherwise).
International orders: please refer to Basket (normally between £7 and £15)
Full payment must be received by us prior to dispatch. Payment to us is usually made through PayPal. However, for our more expensive items, at our discretion, we may require you to pay by electronic bank transfer – please contact us for payment instructions. Where we have indicated a price guide only you will need to contact us for the current price and payment instructions.
All prices listed on our website or on our pricelists (including shipping costs) are in pounds sterling. We reserve the right to change our prices at any time, without notice, and to adjust our prices after an order has been placed where there are changes in exchange rates, taxes, duties, freight rates etc.
6. Product Descriptions
All measurements, dimensions and colours given are approximate and should be used as a guide only.
You may cancel an order by email or telephone for any reason within 14 days after delivery quoting our invoice reference number. This is your right under UK consumer legislation. You will have to pay the UK postage/freight costs for the return, and delivery will be at your risk. Products cannot be returned if they are damaged or have been worn (for hygiene reasons). A refund will be made within 30 days of your cancellation request.
8. Returns and Refunds
Where a Product is found to be damaged or defective you must notify us within 14 days after delivery by email quoting our invoice reference number. At our option we may replace the faulty item or refund the price. We are unable to replace items or issue refunds until returned Products have been received and inspected. No replacement or refund will be issued where:
Products are returned after the 14 day time limit
Products are damaged due to misuse
Products have been used or worn (for hygiene reasons)
If your original order was dispatched with free shipping and your returns brings your order value below £30, original carriage costs and discounts may be deducted from your refund.
If you are returning items damaged or defective on delivery we will reimburse return shipping costs up to a maximum of £20.00.
None of the above affects your statutory rights.
9. Disclaimer of Liability
As far as permitted by law neither we nor our directors, owners or employees shall be liable to you or any third parties for any indirect or consequential loss, damage or expenses (including, without limitation, damage for loss of business or loss of profits) arising directly or indirectly from your purchase or use of the Products and our liability shall be limited to issuing a replacement or refund in accordance with paragraph 8 above.

Our sale of the Products to you and these terms and conditions shall be governed by the law of England and Wales and the parties hereby consent to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
